St. Mary’s Catholic Primary school is a place of learning within a loving and
Christian community.
We are deeply committed to providing the best possible Catholic education
for our children, learning through the example of Jesus to love, respect and
value each other. We value the co-operation between home, school and the
local parish community. This is vital if we are to equip our children for their
future lives and foster in them a thirst for lifelong learning.
The Foundation Stage Curriculum is the basis for the Nursery and Reception classes providing opportunities
for ongoing development in:
personal, social and emotional development
communication, language and literacy
numeracy
knowledge and understanding of the world
physical development
creativity
Building on this foundation, from year 1 through to year 6 the National Curriculum is followed in:
Core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Education.
Foundation subjects: ICT, History, Geography, PE, Music. D & T, Art.
We plan in a cross-curricular way and use teacher’s strengths to provide opportunities for pupils to develop
their creative abilities.
